The Cold Spring Harbor Library seeks an individual with excellent organizational and communication skills to serve patrons at our circulation desk. The Library serves a community of over 8,000 residents in a beautiful location overlooking the water on Long Island’s north shore.
Start Date: July 1, 2024
The candidate must be able to:
- Communicate professionally with patrons, co-workers and supervisors.
- Follow library policies and procedures, especially those related to issuing library cards, checking out items, collecting fines and fees, and handling money.
- Work with computer applications to manage library card holder records.
- Troubleshoot office machines, such as copiers, scanners and fax machines.
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a library preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of Sierra library software preferred but not required.
Schedule:
- 9-5 weekdays, except 1-9 one day per week.
- 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday per month.
