As community centers and community hubs, libraries provides open, inclusive and safe spaces and are offering more and more programs and services to promote healthy living and wellness in the community.  Come to hear and share with colleagues the successful health and wellness programs developed for patrons of all ages in your community (exercise program, gardening club, cooking lessons, mental health awareness, opioid crisis awareness, disaster preparedness, fit kits, seeding libraries, diet and nutrition programs, etc.).  Valerie Lewis, Administrator of Outreach Services at Suffolk Cooperative Library System (SCLS) and Nicole Scherer, Outreach & Engagement Manager at Nassau Library System (NLS) will join us to share the many community agencies and organizations they partner with to bring health and wellness programs to libraries.

This roundtable meeting is a collaboration of LILRC, NLS, SCLS and Personnel Issues and Professional Concerns Committee of NCLA.  Let’s work together to continue to be champions of healthy communities!

Free to attend but registration is required.
